The ONE Neighborhood Project began as an exhibit of long-time St. Louis Street resident Megan Humphrey’s neighborhood photography at the ONE Community Center on Allen Street. The exhibit was the result of a successful kickstarter campaign in 2018, and over 1000 photos were hung all over the first and second floors of the community center. As someone who loves and is loved by residents of all ages, and as the director of H.A.N.D.S (Helping and Nurturing Diverse Seniors), Megan has long been a collector of other people’s stories, and in order to document and share those stories before the seniors are no longer with us and residents move away, she began a collaboration with fellow long-time Old North End resident Laura Hale. With support from the original kickstarter campaign and additional funds from the ONE Good Deed Fund, this website was created as a public repository of images and memories of the past and present of the most diverse neighborhood in the city of Burlington, VT.
